INTRODUCTION
Under California state law, cannabis retailers can open on-site cannabis consumption spaces, with local approval. Some are moving forward (see list below) while others, like Los Angeles and Berkeley, have resisted consumption rooms altogether, as anti-tobacco forces have falsely conflate cannabis smoke with tobacco and show up at local meetings to fight off our rights. Help us make cannabis consumption allowed across California!

Weed Doesn’t Smoke the Same Without Others
Opening up new people to the weed lounge experience helps the cannabis freedom cause. The dream is that one day, smoking a joint at a club might be as typical of an experience as ordering a beer at a bar. It certainly would be a lot healthier.
NEWS:
Asm. Matt Haney’s Cal NORML-sponsored cannabis café bill AB 1775 has been signed into law and went into effect on January 1, 2025. It states that a local jurisdiction may allow cannabis consumption spaces to prepare and sell non-cannabis-infused food, nonalcoholic beverages, and to sell tickets for live musical or other performances. Places that are serving food & drink are designated as cafes on the list below.
